Never send secrets
Support never asks for your 24 words, pattern, Apple password or private files. A purchase reference and an error code are usually enough to start.
Enable free iCloud backup
Open the vault → Vault settings → Manage backup. Turn on Automatic iCloud backup, enter that vault’s recovery words and choose Enable and back up. Keep the app open until “Backed up” and a success date appear. Premium is not required.
The switch appears to turn off
Early test versions could show the switch off while waiting for the recovery-word confirmation below it. Complete that step. If the control is disabled, send support the build number shown in app settings. Do not uninstall to troubleshoot this.
iCloud fails
Check iCloud sign-in, iCloud Drive, GuardVault permission and storage in iPhone settings. Keep originals and export an encrypted archive to Files as an independent copy. An error is never proof of backup completion. Send only the error code and app version to support.
Apple confirmed a purchase but Premium is inactive
Use Restore purchases in app settings with the same Apple account. Do not buy again. “Premium is active” means the app already recognizes a right; backup needs no further purchase. If Apple cannot process your request, tell support which plan, build and step show the message.
TestFlight purchases
TestFlight uses Apple’s test environment. Prices, durations and renewals may differ from production. A test succeeds only when Premium activates and later restores or expires as expected.
Recover after reinstall
Choose Recover a vault, then iCloud backup or an encrypted archive. Enter the words in order and choose a new pattern. For iCloud use the account holding the backup. Words alone cannot recreate deleted files.
Return files to Photos or Files
Open a file or select items, then use export to Photos or Files. Exported copies are readable outside the vault and may be synced by the receiving application.
Delete data
Uninstall removes local vaults, not necessarily cloud backups or exports. Cloud deletion is an explicit vault setting. Disable sync on other devices to prevent another upload. Preserve the copies you need before deleting anything.
